IMO, the trick with social bookmarking sites is to target a niche within them. For example, if you're advertising a cosmetics & make-up site, you'll probably want to put your efforts towards advertising to the beauty/fashion sub-group.

Otherwise, yeah...conversions don't happen when you advertise about something niche-specific to a very broad crowd.

 

Yes social bookmarking give right targeted visitors but only for few days after than our links move down slowly and vanished , it is better for those who update their content daily or at alternate days and submit their new content to social bookmarking site and keep getting targeted traffic .

I never could understand why people would buy untargeted traffic. It seems a waste as those surfers weren't looking for your product/services to begin with and have a high probability of not buying. As I see this is the case, there are still a million people offering to sell you traffic. I don't see the point in it. Maybe I am missing something.

That's the issue and not understanding the benefits.

I don't target the members or users of the social sites, I use specific key words in a less competitive field, then I get direct results in Google, my own page may not be indexed in the top 10 - but the social page will get within the top 10 results - hence reaching a targeted audience.

As well as the Google results, you will also send the SE bots to crawl your sites.

Totally disagree. I've made $1,000's in sales by leapfrogging in Google via social bookmarking sites. The SEO benefits have also been huge (even with nofollow) in many cases. Best & Take Care.

 

BINGO !! Sometimes I feel like I am the only one doing this to take advantage of the results in Google, it's very easy to get in the top 10 in Google for targeted key words, admittedly they are not competitive keywords, but combined with my blogs, sites and social submissions I can own the front page within 24 hours.

untargeted traffic is very hard to get traffic from them because they might not interested with what you are selling or offering

 

Social bookmarking doesn't convert often, but it does convert sometimes depending on your niche. (for instance FireFox installs via adsense)

 

hmm which niche you think the best ?

 

I haven't been able to figure out how this works could you go into a little more detail or post a link where I could learn some more on how to implement it.
