If you are looking to boost search engine traffic, this piece of information might interest you. There have been quite a few studies like this, however, if you haven’t come across information like this before, do look at the image below. It will give you an idea about the way click traffic has been distributed in the front page of a set of search results. What I’m trying to say is that there is a 400% difference in the number 1 and number 2 ranking in search engines. It is imperative for every webmaster to know that they can boost sales on their site by increasing traffic or increasing conversions. The point is how do you put this knowledge to use? Let’s consider 2 different situations- If you are involved in search engine traffic and an active SEO campaign, it is but obvious that there are some keywords that you have front page rankings for. A look at your traffic statistics will help you find out. Let’s assume you find some keywords like the above. Maybe you concentrated on link building on those few pages until you reached number 1 for those keywords. Have you ever thought about how it would be if you boosted your traffic by 400% on a couple of different keywords? How would it impact your revenue? How difficult it is to propel your page to number 1? Well, depending on the competition and keyword, it may not be all that difficult. Here’s the other situation If you are familiar with your metrics, you perhaps know that they are some keywords that get your traffic. These keywords generate more sales than other keywords. Are you attracting as much traffic as you can from those keywords? You need to concentrate on your link building efforts on those keywords and pages. You could reap rich dividends. I feel apologetic about having a post get to page 1 for its keyword, than focus on acquiring rankings for another keyword. I could have well boosted traffic by 400% with barely any effort if I had focused on that initial keyword and post until I came up to position 1.
Interesting stat about the 400%. I had considered trying to rank on other keywords . Just curious, where did the stat come from?
I know from a lot of personal experience that ranking #1 is light years better than ranking #2. I dunno about exactly 400%, I'm sure it varies, but this is a real phenomenon. People will usually click the first result they see, right at the top. It's the first one you read, search engine pages are laid out much like book or article pages and where does everyone start reading those? At the top.
I'm skeptical about the 400% too. Plus even at Position 2 you can boost your CTR by having a well written title and meta description (if Google decides to use it).
I really need to boost my rating. Im just getting started, but I see the potential! People like you let me know that its possible.
somehow this is interesting but having doubt co'z I never try using any automated tools for rankings.
U may be first or second. But without a good meta description u wont get clicks bro. Reaching in good ranks wont get your traffic updated. U have to update your site with relevant contents daily. And obviously a good meta description
somehow this is exciting but still having doubt because I never try using any automated tools for rankings.
