Books or video tutorials?

I want to build a simple classifieds website in ASP.NET.

I have Total Training ASP.NET 2.0 video tutorials DVDs which (as I see in contents) covers about everything I want to know.

Also, I have some books, like Pro ASP.NET 3.5 in C# 2008 or Beginning ASP.NET 3.5 in C# 2008 From Novice to Professional.

I know that a book is always much better than a video tutorial, no doubt, but it contains too much theory which right now I don't need. Instead, I need practical examples that I will apply later.

Also, a book like that takes much more time to learn than a video tutorial but it's much more comprehensive and complete.

    1. Which way should I go?
    2. Which way did you learn programming (a website, in general)?

    Thanks!

I learned by working on small projects. Some of them were ones I thought up and others were in collaboration with others I knew.

I prefer books because I can get the information anytime. I just have to bring it with me. I don't always have access to a computer or web connection.

I think one of the best ways to learn is by actually doing something with the language you want to learn.
