    no.
when you bookmark, you're not just doing your site a favor but the online community as well, because essentially, you want them to know your site exists.
don't overdo the bookmarking though, and really bookmark other sites you think are worth sharing.

This is a site where in you can get tons of traffic. And the general idea behind social bookmarks is that rather than saving a bookmark for a web page in a browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox, users instead save the bookmark to a publicly accessible web site. Other people can then see your bookmark and ideally be exposed to something that you wouldn't otherwise encounter.. This is not against google tos..

No it's not but if you do bookmark then do like 1 post a day. The ones i use are Digg, Del.icio.us, reddit, yahoo, Google and Co.mments. If you use use a blog on wordpress then you can install social bookmarking plugins so others can bookmark your articles as well.

Bookmarking sites like del.icio.us is ok, and submitting to Digg will also get you traffic, but do not spam sites like Digg. They will ban domains that they think are spamming them and lowering the quality of their service. Submit whatever you want however often you want on del.icio.us, because that's considered more of a personal bookmarking service that just happens to be open to the world (unless you have it set to private, which you shouldn't if you want to get some traffic this way).
