bookmarking sites

Does those bookmarking sites like del.icio.us considered as authority site? And does they have more weight than back link from directories?

 

del.icio.us has nofollow links. that being said, nofollow doesn't actually mean "do not follow" and it will help it getting new sites indexed if you have nowhere else to turn.

depending on what you mean by "these bookmarking sites," some may be considered authorities and some may not.

 

All links from del.icio.us have the rel=nofollow attribute.

All i can say is that del.icio.us drives a good traffic to site. I am getting an average of 90 visits pero month from del.icio.us

Why, are you thinking of spamming del.icio.us?
In Google it will have no effect but in Yahoo they will add it as a backlink from your site.

Is it not good to get a back link from a PR 8 site if ever they don't use the nofollow?

 

I agree..PinoyIto just want to do everything to improve their site..by the way social bookmarking will definitely drive you traffic..

 

nofollow does not mean it won't have an effect. it means it won't get an anchor text bonus. ALL search engines will index pages based on nofollow links alone.

and del.icio.us can still help with link campaigns as people can find it from there then link to it, and a lot of sites automate linking to delicious feeds.

ma.gnolia is basically delicious with a neater UI and no nofollow links, btw
