    only one strategy is not fulfill your need but most effective strategy is content writing because content is king.

    All of these still work and could greatly boost your reputation. But if your aim is to rank at the top of Google then you need to focus not just on these areas but most importantly on the quality of your content as this is what matters most to Google. Of course you should focus on other SEO strategies as well.

    All old techniques! This wont' work for rankings specially when you target highly competitive keywords.
    Focus on On page SEO more, build content within your website. Make your Internal blog very strong by posting regular posts every week.
    SBM try to go for only Top high pr sites which really have value. Don't try to go for 100 sbm its all spam. Reddit, delicious are some good sbm sites. Use sbm for promoting content, blog content, articles.

    Guest posting - Target only high authority sites which have real value in terms of DA, PA, ALEXA, Trust value. Go for niche only! Guest post can help but do note that you don't over do, or else google can penalize your websites!

    Focus more on content, quality article sites, high press release sites etc.
    Don't just focus on google, use social media marketing to generate traffic to your site

    Directory - Its dead :) Don't go for bulk directories
    Target only few of them: Go for Local Directories, Local listings, Niche directories they are still alive :)

    Classifieds can be targeted if you have ecommerce or product base sites. Craiglist is a best example

    To be fair Google doesn't like the old tactics like ARTICLES Submission etc.

    Focus on On site SEO + Content marketing + Video Marketing +Blog Marketing + Social Media Optimization can give you better results.
