For some good CSS books, a couple I recommend are: Bulletproof Web Design - By Dan Cederholm Web Standards Solutions - By Dan Cederholm I recommend these books in conjunction with each other because they really help the reader understand how to troubleshoot CSS problems and learn about how CSS works. What about you guys? What have you read and recommend?
I have a great recommendation, and best of all it wont cost you a penny. http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp This pretty much covers everything you need to know about CSS. Except the thinking behind it, thats for you to develop yourself.
Any other books recommandations for someone that's very new to CSS? I mean, I don't know anything about it.
I personally learned alot from Sitepoint's The CSS Anthology. And while we're on the subject of books, has anyone checked out The Principles of Beautiful Web Design, another Sitepoint book. I checked out the chapter they offer as a download and it really looks like something I could use.
I checked out the free chapter too, looks pretty cool. It reminded me of what i learned in college 8 years ago.
Beginning CSS Web Development: From Novice to Professional by Simon Collison is good for beginners CSS Mastery by Andy Budd is the best book for great css tips
Hello, I used to make websites with tables and then moved on to just creating the graphics for a coder and then currently worked solely in Flash. I have realised that SEO and clean designs are what clients want and want to learn creating optimised websites using css etc! I am comfortable making graphics in Photoshop and layout in Flash but want to make valid websites. What books do you recommend for a novice moving to css/xhtml? I want to learn the basics and then work my way upto advanced layout skills and generally putting ideas into practice. I find it hard to relate and convert photoshop layouts to .html etc. There are many books and websites but I just want a few good resources I can learn during freetime at work or home. Thanks,
Definitely read all the articles at SitePoint.com and look into their CSS Anthology. You can download a couple sample chapters for free.
