    I find it very effective.

    My preferred method is to trawl through new posts when I view DP rather than specific forums and this new usablity feature helps me keep better track of what I've read and what I haven't.

    I had taken to subscribing to threads I only wanted to read when they were updated (nothing to contribute on my part) but with the new tweak, I no longer have to.

    maybe i'm confused, but maybe the lighter color should signify the newer threads? they just stand out to me, then i realized i was looking at threads 30+ days old

    Why do people think work is time on one's hands? I just don't get it. Shawn using his spare time, as you call it, is making the forum more user friendly and thus driving more traffic perhaps or retaining members.

    It's not twiddling by any means.
