I find it very effective. My preferred method is to trawl through new posts when I view DP rather than specific forums and this new usablity feature helps me keep better track of what I've read and what I haven't. I had taken to subscribing to threads I only wanted to read when they were updated (nothing to contribute on my part) but with the new tweak, I no longer have to. Great tweak, Shawn.
Thats right. Even i didnt want to post something stupid just to subscribe to thread and see the updates. Makes life easier.
I'm really hungover and thought I was spazzing out. I don't really like it, its making my head go funny and my eyes feel weird....im going back to bed....
maybe i'm confused, but maybe the lighter color should signify the newer threads? they just stand out to me, then i realized i was looking at threads 30+ days old
feeling a bit better today, dont mind different colours now. Much easier to comprehend when not hungover!
I expanded the whole idea a little bit... under the "Quick Links" menu there is now a New Threads and a New Threads (Subscribed Forums) search functionality.
Why do people think work is time on one's hands? I just don't get it. Shawn using his spare time, as you call it, is making the forum more user friendly and thus driving more traffic perhaps or retaining members. It's not twiddling by any means. Now get to work!
