Bold (strong) external links on my website?

    I have some articles on my blog and when I put a link for an external website into my blog post (or an affiliate link), I always put the <strong> (bold) tags on these links to make them stand out better - to attract more attention.

    Is this bad for SEO?

    I think its beneficial, because spider like bold / strong tag alot and it helps in boosting rank.
