Which is the best song Please vote directly if you hate reading further. Of all the numbers I heard, these two will remain etched in my memory. Ironically these numbers were sung by bands that were known for hedonism. Yes, I'm talking about the bands, Queen and Led Zeppelin. Bohemian Rhapsody and Stairway to Heaven bring out the Nietzchean theories. Bohemian Rhapsody's musical structure is unsystematic as the Dionysian concept. It talks about the social evil of gun-wielding youths and how they are susceptible to cruel punishments if they shot somebody. This is the Apollonian seriousness here: Nietzsche condemned punishments whole-heartedly and we see a desperate youth who faces death sentence here. Stairway to Heaven also has both qualities. Nietzsche praised Dionysian qualities but he was also against drugs and alcohol (Apollonian). Dionysus stood for unsystematic, frenzy, passionate spontaneity, feeling which Nietzsche adulated but he doesn't tolerate drugs or alcohol. Stairway to Heaven deals with a girl who purchases and enjoys drugs, the tone is something short of an elegy, warning impending doom rather apart from being sympathetic. Between the two songs I still can't decide which is best but both can be applauded for their social theme and for boldly straying away from conventional themes like love, sweetheart, babe, smooch etc...And for a higher social cause indeed. So folks please vote which is the best song.
