start with weights that you are comfortable lifting, do not over do it as injury is easy and can set you back.
I have been weight training for 2 years, first start with weights that you can do 10-12 reps and do 3-4 set for each exercise, some body parts need more sets and exercises like legs and chest and etc, and after workout you need a good amount of carbs and protein to recover your body. Also, you need to take more protein 1g per your body weight in lbs. Hope this helps!
It all needs your Dedicated Time and your Effort. Self Training is not suit for a Starter. A Starter must join a GYM to learn few bodybuilding tricks.
