it is a bad bad niche. There are a lot of real professional trainer write about it. Also site like about.com or bodybuilding.com are impossible to beat i have a bodybuilding blog, got nice traffic but only show crappy diet ads...
Doesn't matter if its competitive. The myspace niche is very saturated as well and is still very profitable. They may be hard to beat, but that doesn't mean you can't succeed. Proxies are very saturated to but will always be in demand. Same with the fitness niche.
Got to agree with ForgottenCreature on this one. You can always compete. Hell, if I jumped back into the myspace arena (been out since winter 2005), it would take me 30 days to be making $xxx-$x,xxx a month. Given a little more time, who knows!
I don't agree with that mentality. Are certain gaming websites (MiniClip and/or Yahoo! Games) not impossible to beat as well? Does that hinder individuals such as myself from earning within this industry? Absolutely not! In my opinion, if the niche pays adequately well, and there is reasonable leeway in methods you can employ to market your website - do not hold back from competition!
here's a link to what I have going so far: http://ghgut.wordpress.com/ I haven't started to promote it on bodybuilding forums yet, but have been working on creating content and links to see how the site could work and get used to wordpress ( first time using it ). Thoughts? Also what ads should I put on the site? I am banned from Adsense, so anything besides that would be good.
Does WidgetBucks offer anything relating to bodybuilding equipment? If so, that may be a wise (lucrative) bet in your case as you're banned. Also, here are a few pointers after quickly glancing over your website: List the keywords you will be targetting in the title for SEO purposes; Purchase a better theme, so that visitors actually want to stay; Add more content, as the website is composed of videos and images only. Bear in mind the above points, before you begin marketing your website.
I'm thinking of starting a site in this niche too, in my own language, Dutch. In the Netherlands there's some serious competition, but I don't think it's saturated yet. It's going to be in the subniche abs training.
I had a blogspot blog, that made next to nothing in that niche. And i think that niche is being smart priced. So i wouldn't get my hopes up to high for it.
