i don't think he know what he is talking about:D just bumping up his post count

for some reason my collarbone hurt, this is annoying cause i can't do anything at all (not even squat)

Do you guy do squat and deadlift? I see a few ppl do squat but almost no one do deadlift and zero clean and jerk, which is the best IMO. In the last month i concentrate on deadlift and squat and funny thing happened. those body part that i didn't train go stronger too.

    like lat pull down. I was doing 160 * 8 and i did 190 * 10 on friday

anyway i am getting ready to go. Going to do some speed ladder drill cause my collarbone hurt like a bitch!

I do deads, stiff legged dead lifts. I took my back out a few times with them though, so atm I'm real weak on them. Like 225 is the tops I get with stiff legged deads.

My lower back on my right side simply does not feel healed yet, not painful but feels like where a muscle connection is made it's not 100%

yea, that's what i am scared, it is hard to maintain the right form when i go heavy.

the heaviest deadlift i went is 220 for 3 rep, still working on it

    Take your time!
You do regular deads or stiff legged?

I was up to doing over 4 plates on stiff legged, alot of good that does me now :D

Once you tear your back it's never the same. I keep 'healing' then working back up to 315 or so x 10 only to tear it again. Strength is fine, something just is nagging and not healing 100%

Once you get hurt, it is never the same.

I had minor tear in my ACL once, can't walk for a few weeks

it is never the same. I lost explosiveness and my knee get tight whenever it rain. Also, you get scared cause you don't wanna get hurt again

It can 'heal' to an extent. A major injury though is never 100% the same. My left knee is shot, my left rotator cuff, my lower back. I can deal with them, but I can feel it's not 100%

I take cissus which helps, I also take a joint complex that helps as well. You can ice, and take over the counter pain meds such as Aleve to bring down swelling, etc. Next step is the doctor, something I don't do very often ;)

You guys got it harsh in the states having to pay for medical care.

Here we get the NHS (national health service) it may not be as good as yours, but it is free :p Actually, NHS sucks, but still :p

Hope nobody minds me digging up this thread, but I have a question...

I had to take all of last week off from working out. So when I went back to the gym today, I expected to have a hard time with the workout. I expected to not be able to go as heavy or not to be able to complete as many reps. But I didn't have any problems. In fact, I had a better workout and was able to lift more weight and do more reps! Why is that??

Your body needed a rest ;)
Many find they can come back stronger after a rest, I myself am always weaker. Even if I only take a day or two off my routine I lose some strength.

So does that mean that I am trying to do too much? If my body is not recovering inbetween workouts, should I be doing less????

Nope not at all, your body just needs time inbetween workouts once in awhile. I even do it, I do come back weaker usually but my joints and such will have time to heal.

Many body builders will work in phases, lifting heavy and then either coming totally off or going light for awhile.

I took two weeks off...and i was drink and chain smoking at that time so i lost a lot of strengh when i workout yesterday. I almost pass out after 15 minute of cardio

have you guy heard of crossfit?
    http://www.crossfit.com/

i started to follow their workout and it is freaking intense! It is not like traditional bodybuilding (to pack on size) but more like athletic training. I love it alot and i don't think i will ever do a 3set x 12 rep biceps curl again:D
