Ha! The story just hit CNN as "elephant killing video" by GoDaddy CEO - he's trying to explain his action. This is too funny!

the story was picked up by CNN. I just watched it this minute. Ha! it will definitely have an impact, but no, GD will not go out of business. But it will have an impact and that's better than nothing.

Check Parson's blog for the video. Seems he's also actively responding to all those who comment on his blog, even those cursing and so on. Here's only one of the recent responses he posted:

"You're heart is in the right place here but there's more you need to know. Here's the facts, the farmers in Zimbabwe are at a poverty level we simply can't imagine here in the USA. When their crops aren't harvested, there are no food stamps or welfare. What they get is starvation. The elephant there are not endangered, it's actually quite the opposite — there are too many of them. The people there need protein and taking an elephant that is busy destroying their fields has three benefits, first the crop damage is stopped, the village receives a valuable source of protein, and because we make it a point, if at all possible to take old bulls (and we never take more than one because the goal is to get the herd out of the field), it has no effect on the herd (because the social structure is run by the cows, older bulls stay separate from the herd, and young bulls quickly step up and breed in place of the older bull).

I understand that with the endless choices of food we have at our supermarkets and how well fed all of us are, this situation is difficult to get your head around. But I've been over there now six times, and this solution is really the best for all concerned.

    Bob"

    So what's he saying?

He's going to run around the world killing all animals in countries that don't have enough food?

    what a clown.

Clown or not, seems most people who actually live in Africa agree with him. The ones jumping up are those who have no idea what's life when the only thing standing between life and death is what's growing on the field out there...

As Bob stated on his blog, this elephant issue has been present in that area for years. Why hasn't PETA get in to move the animals elsewhere?

Nah, I just got finished talking to Bob. He's a total idiot. It has nothing to do with how much that stupid ugly(hire a slut to be beside me) guy says its about his care for the people of Africa. Its obviously because he's a hunter looking for the ultimate catch. It understandable why the people of Africa are ok with it considering they are at the point where they want to take what they can. Afterall, if they were smart enough they would be able to maintain more of a food source and control the elephants but it does not change the issue that you can't just run around killing stuff.
You can't justify killing things. The only people who will agree with Him on this matter is a person who hunts for sport which you can obviously see through his gay ass blog because there's a million people running around talking hunting stuff in there.
The guy is a Grade A Idiot.

I'm not going to lie though. I have made a profit of around $300 so far with his stupid retarded action.

"Smart enough" depends a lot on the resourses at your disposal. I am not a hunter but I agree with hunting - as long as we're not talking about endangered species and it seems elephants are anything but endangered in that area. If you think he's an idiot... check Romania's politicians and over 90% of our "businessmen" and "stars" - no need to get into any details here.

There all done. No more go daddy hosting. I'm more into companies that don't do such stupid things. Go Daddy claimed that the business has not been suffering at all from the event but that's total crap because there is tons of people moving over.

oo poor Bob Parsons, he's so nice and feeling bad for poor Africans so he went to the rescue and slaughtered an elephant to feed them. Why he didn't go closer to Haiti and helped those people, or to the people of Japan?
He went with his sluts to Africa on Safari and bs, and he think he's cool because he's putting down elephants for those people to eat! How sweet! and the comments about the US supermarkets makes it just even better! maybe we should all go to Africa so US the Americans finally can lose some weight.

This is GoDaddy's lesson in Crisis Communication 101. Where is their PR exec?!

Parsons needs to stop personally blogging about it if his best explanation is "I'm only killing the old elephants." This kind of talk may work in the African village, but it's not playing well in America.

Worst of all, he gets this videotaped . . . for bragging rights. It's hard out here for a hero, I suppose.

Never was a fan of GD and this latest debacle is definitely the last straw. GoDaddy will not get any future business from me.

    Namecheap beats Godaddy...;0
i am not o fan of Bob, and i use godaddy due to the competitive registeration fee.
it's not a smart move away from the most popular domain registrar on the web.

They may did something else, who knows. Bob Parsons doesn't mean godaddy. What he did isn't related with godaddy.
Do you have a car? If not, I'm sure you will have one, eh just think about the pollution, how many people and animals are dead?
Stop thinking like kids, what Bob did is bad, but it isn't the end of the world....
As I said, all this bullsh*t is about money, no one cares about that elephant killed.
