which one of them is best, when comes to using server resources. iam not worried about anything else. i am looking to host about 6-10 sites on single account.

i noticed that bluehost allows only 6 addons domains while hostgator allows unlimited. please help me to make a choice.

I've had up to 12 addon domains with hostgator without coming close to max resources

I have never heard a bad thing about hostgator. I am using dreamhost because I got a coupon that basically gave me a year for lie $20. They are alright but have their issues.

I believe Bluehost just changed how they monitor CPU usage and people seem to be hitting the cap easier than before. A google search for bluehost cpu cap brings up a few results.

I've been with GoDaddy for 3+ years, I love them. I've only had one bad experience with them, cause some IT chick was having a bad day the last time I called. I have also tried 1and1.com, because it was cheap for client sites(that way I could make more off hosting).

Hostgator is the best!. Host 300+ domains there (site:africanmatrimonial.com)., (SOme f****** sent spam through our script (still dont know or dint understand how)., Hostgator Suspended our account., and got reactivated quickly after sending some mails.).

They truely understand your problem and try to help you.

    Really an amazing company.,

if you get a couple dream host costs you 30 bucks for 1 year while hostgator goes for 90, that is making me wonder...

unlimited domains...but is it unlimited bandwidth? no. that's a major drawback. especially when your sites keep growing.

Did you know Hostgator got hacked just recently? Now the issue was they (HG) tried to hush it up and the result was just catastrophic to thousands of people...

I think Hostgator is becoming a victim of its own success....

hostgator seems to be good if money is not a problem, otherwise i would go with dreamhost (best cost-benefit imo), doing the maths it will cost less than $4 / month if you get a 1 year plan

if you need a promo code, this will discount the $119/year that they charge initially

finally, i took hostgator and here is what i observed.

    Hostgator is
    1. good for multiple domains
    2. always having problem running google pagerank script
    3. no custom php.ini
    4. watch out for cpu/server resources.

i like custom php.ini offered by bluehost and i have no experience with bluehost. thanks
