Bluehost! Is it for advanced users?

Okay so I guess you could call me a newbie to website building. So recently I paid someone to build my site through Bluehost - that's what I was told was the best for the kind of site I have. I'm happy with it I am, but I just want to go in and change a couple of things (I only have a squeeze page).

How do I get into where I edit my site so frustrating and I've looked on Bluehost how to do it but can't find it anywhere.

Bluehost is good enough even if you are an advanced user.

Their support is responsive too so just use their chat support feature for you questions.

BlueHost should be simple enough for novice or advanced users alike. I would recommend starting by checking their faq for solutions, or contact their support to answer your question. They should be more than happy to help you with your problem.

Bluehost is very good if you are a noob, but planning to go more advanced in the future as it has all the features that you think you won't need now, but in a year's time, with a "simpler" host, you would be saying "WHY don't they provide XYZ?!". On the downside, you can't be a COMPLETE newbie to run a site on Bluehost, but that's true with any site on any host so it's probably time to start learning anyway :)

Problem is we don't know whether your site is running on a software solution like WordPress, which has a admin panel you can log into (totally separate from the Bluehost control panel) and where you can make changes to your site without knowing any web voodoo.

If it's just a squeeze page, I doubt it - more likely you need to find the File Manager in the Bluehost control panel and use it to view the actual file system of your site. Probably there will be an HTML file (probably called index.html or index.php) containing your content, that you can download, edit and re-upload.

But that's all just guesswork and I strongly advise you don't try to do anything yourself if you're not sure - you could mess things up in any one of a hundred ways. Better probably to pay someone to do it, or even better, pay them to explain to YOU how to do it in future.

To the OP, feel free to ignore any replies which appear to be promoting their hosting services, they'll be banned soon, just read what I said and see if it makes sense.

Since you are only editing the page, what you need to do is login to ftp and select the file with .index extension then edit it.

I think the term "FTP" is probably going to draw a blank stare from our original poster, although that would be the way I would do it too. However, I am not sure how you can be sure the file would have a .index extension?! You probably meant that the file is CALLED "index.(something)" (.php or .html most likely). But I am pretty sure FTP is going to be beyond the OP's expertise anyway if he/she can't find their way around Control Panel...

I wonder if the files of your web site have been uploaded to the server already?

I think you need to contact your company and ask for a help. They have a special stuff for this kind of tasks as well as any other web hosting company

You should contact the person who built your site and ask them if they can help you with figuring out how to edit your site. There are too many different variables involved to determine how to help you edit your site without allowing someone to look at your account to figure it out.
