bluehost tried to delete/ban my account with them today because they said my vbulletin forum was "spamming/phishing".

I came to find out that they want me to remove the auto-subscribe to threads that members have chosen after they post a topic or reply.

Bluehost directly told me that "no auto responders are allowed on their servers"

    WTF?

I cant have a forum where people subscribe to their own topics?

The told me to remove it immediately or they will ban me, delete my account and delete all my files!

    How can this be?

It's an overseller, they will cut corners like this in order to squeeze every little bit out of their servers, and pass this on to you...If I were you I would collect a full backup of your account/data before anything else happens.

Now the other part is up to you, whether or not you'll accept to disable that option. I don't see why you should

If they said "spamming" then your forum is sending more than mail/hour limit. Probably it's time to upgrade to more powerful plan.

It's unfortunate they can't answer such a simple question. Customer service skills must be lacking over there lately! If you have a dedicated service (VPS/dedicated), this sort of thing should not happen as you should have control of the VPS/dedicated service in question.

Well its true they are over sell there server. So if you use too email responder like this will eat there server CPU. Bluehost is part of hostmonster to offer cheap hosting well hostmonster itself cheap hosting.

But when we while buy there account they say all jil mil words unlimited, GB Bandwidth but to use all those you need CPU time, there is the real trick. They never say anything about unlimited CPU usage lol that is called bottle neck

But i never came across such issue in hostmonster.

I think the trick of the trade that many of this popular hosting places, when you first sign up they put your web site on a nice server during the customer evaluation satisfaction or your money back guarantee, then they move your site to a sever which has a thousand site hosted.

If you aren't aware of your site being slow, then you are left with a slow site, but if you do notice it, some host will move it for you upon request.

Most host are sneaky and it is up to the customers to know what's going on, those that do tend to be serve a little better than those that don't.

I suspect you are having a kind of forbidden content stored on your forum. It is necessary to specify the reason. Try to work out on it with your web hosting company. Just show them that you want improve this situation as well
