I've been thumbing through web hosting plans and reviews the past couple of days. So far, Bluehost.com is what I'm leaning toward. Anyone care to share their experiences with this web hosting company? Pros? Cons?
Yeah, I see cheaper alternatives out there, but it's hard to know which ones really deliver. As a newb trying to set up a site, the web hosting possibilities out there are mind boggling. Any recommendations?
Bluehost is a reputed company as all the others have said. What kind of space and bandwidth requirements do you have, and what is your budget? Based on your answers, I could point you somewhere.
I think I used bluehost years ago and had some problems with them. Unless it was a company with a similar name.
I used to host with bluehost but my hosting needs out grew there services and they terminated my account and only left ftp access to move everything. Of course they gave me a refund for the time remaining but it was a pain to transfer everything. I would rate bluehost 8/10. There support is great, but its pretty costly!
Bluehost has done well for me. They have good customer service as well (That's my big thing, 24/7 CUSTOMER SUPPORT!)
I have used bluehost.com for about a year or so and have never had a problem, then again I never really had any problems where I needed to call them, so customer service-wise I dont know. They are pretty cheap though, they are offering unlimited everything for 3.95 if you sign a contract for two years.
I have used them once. But after they suspend my site due to overuse with 10GB of files while in fact they offer unlimited space. Then i change my host to other company.
BlueHost has been providing hosting solutions to thousands of business and personal web sites since 1996. You can read all reviews ( 283 reviews ) here. I used them once too. Their support was top-notch but i am seeking for the best deal. Now i am with other hosting provider ( dedicated servers ). Hope this help.
I did want to start an educational site. Basically offering teaching advice and fun learning activities while selling products. But my husband thinks it won't fly, that there are too many competing sites out there already. As much as I hate to admit it , he's probably right. Thanks for your input, everyone. Seeing as how I need to find a better niche, I'm going to hold off on hooking up with a web hosting company. I'll most likely go with either Bluehost or Hostgator when I do.
BlueHost is a popular company. Personally, I stay away from the "big name" hosting companies. They tend to see you as "just another client" and also oversell their servers rather then having that personal connection. I like to find professional hosting companies here on DP. I look for a clean website, a team of support reps, no overselling, not a reseller hosting website (so they should have a data center and their own servers), and not unlimited space/bandwith. I've been with IGX host for a few months now, and they have been incredible. The average support response time is about 30 minutes. Their plans are cheap also.
bluehost is one of the most popular hosting company... but i prefer to hostgator because of it's fast server...
