    Hi,

My site on their network also gets throttled, but it seems to always work :) ... well i got a dedicated IP, probably things are different. (they seem to give you more CPU if you purchase an IP or something)

I still do get throttled but as i said, things remain up.

You are thorttled for CPU abuse :(

    regards,
    Ryan

You are probably on a shared hosting plan, which means you are sharing a server with others and therefore all sharing the servers processor [cpu]. When a host 'throttles' your account it normally means they reduce access to the cpu because your site is using more than its fair share on that server. This is not a good thing as it indicates your website for whatever reason is too big to operate on the size hosting plan you have - or the host simply has too many accounts being hosted on that server. Sadly the later is often the case. We suggest you read your hosts Term and Conditions which can be found here and either change your plan or your host, whichever best suits your needs.

    Best of luck.

Bluehost seems better recently even got throttled. I checked loading speed more of the time OK.

Even I bought high CPU ca $20 and dedicated IP still got throttled.

What type of website do you host with them? And how many page views do you have every day? These information may help us to say if there is some problem with the script which may be poorly written and eat too much CPU resources or if you have simply so high traffic and upgrading to VPS is necessary.

it means they want more money. NEVER use shared hosting for your money making sites. I myself have NEVER heard such a thing like "CPU throttling" with all my hosters i am with.

I suppose it depends upon what you mean by "down" - not responding at all, error messages, something else. CPU throttling will result in the request page not being displayed but the server will usually respond with an error message of some sort. If there is no response at all from the server then it's unlikely it was caused by CPU throttling on your site.

I have had similar issues but to be fair my site is probably too busy and maybe to big for the host anyway. But they tend to throttle all sites.

I had a site on one account which was pure HTML not dynamics and not a lot to it.......it got throttled which made me laugh but wasn't unexpected. It just comes down to server load, how else do you think they can offer so much for so little?

You must be using too much cpu or ram, I'd suggest upgrading to another host one that offers better packages/stats, If you want contact me I can set you up with some web hosting and I will not throttle you.

Well, either your site is really using too many cpu resources or blue host has stuffed there server with so many clients that you are not getting fair share of resources. Now, with extreme oversellers like BlueHost, I would certainly guess that's its the 2nd case.

After have a look on your site, it doesn't seem to be a resource intensive site. You may want to get yourself a new host that can actually provide you a better over all experience.
You are So WRONG... Do you think every other user that has money making site has his own VPS or Dedicated ??
There is nothing wrong with Shared Hosting ... it's the blue host that needs to improve their service.

If you are getting unlimited disk space and bandwidth for $6/month, what do you expect??
