Blooger and Amazon

Discussion in 'Amazon' started by Michael McGimpsey, Aug 11, 2010.

    Greetings,

I am ramping up my efforts to achieve my ultimate goal of making a living from the internet.

    Question:
What do you think of using Googles Blogger and Amazon together as a way to generate income? I have ideas for a whole heap of niche blogs and am thinking seems blogger is free I could use that. Also Google owns it so I am sure they index it regularly.

    Thoughts anyone?

Edit: Damn I got the title wrong should read Blogger and Amazon

I think you should use bloggers as a dummy blog from your amazon website, it is better you use the commercial domain. like. com or. org

    hopefully usefull :D

Alot of people have kicked themselves very hard when Google disabled their blogger account for no apparent reason. Please, please, do not pin your hopes on Blogger for your affiliate business. Instead, get a hosted domain and use blogger to drive traffic and backlinks to your site.

In the last couple years, I've seen friends' accounts disabled for spamming. And there's no way of getting in touch with Google to hear your side of the story. So, it's a one-sided decision and boom...your account is gone.

Nice you asked, people here will tell you the same thing. Again, with your own domain, you have full control to do whatever pleases you. But with some ones else's domain, you can't mess about.

Have a think; and good luck

Hhelen is right, that is why I am going to convert to my own domain, so I will control what is displayed on my website.. I hope everything works out for you..

Agree with Hhelen. Got one of my own blogger blogs deleted for no reason. All unique content and I was not evening promoting the site. It was getting traffic from Google it self and from Blogcatalog. And One day it was gone. reason : spamming. there was no details about where or how. That blog as earning $50 per month from Amazon.

Fortunately I had a buckup taken a month ago so I bought a tld and put it on. So now site is slowly recovering. Don't waste time on blogger if you are serious and have a long term plan.

Getting it index is not hard. ranking for the keyword is the hard part. anyway this take at least 3-4 months. Still you don't have to worry about getting banned and loose both content and traffic you work hard to get.

Always backup your content and sites! Especially if you are at risk of being closed down...

Does anyone know why Google does that anyway? I set up two blogger sites today just to test run Amazon products - scheduled a whole stack of posts in a pretty much set and forget system. All of my other blogs I host myself but what is this 'thing" that we might do that could get the blogger site blocked? Any ideas?

yes, this is fact that Google has blocked or disable account as your blog ranking well and you are earning well by your web blog site. There was no any solid reason why blog is disable or block and no any option for query.

Google is an Amazon affiliate. They don't want the competition on property they are paying for.

You might want to check Wordpress terms as well, there's a clause that says you must not use the site drive traffic to third party commercial sites. Something along those lines anyway. See the highlighted section in the terms here http://en.wordpress.com/tos/

Why would anyone even think about building a business on a site that can be taken away? Let's get serious... Build your sites on your own hosting with your own domains.

WordPress is a great platform for building sites. Host and install the software on your own property. The free crap isn't worth a single minute of time investment.

They would be talking more about redirects then having advertisments. Adsense would land under that term too.

Yes, it is a good integration. It is for the better. Amazon would also monetize the blog or the site. It has got so many products for the consumers to choose from.

Use Wordpress with a cheap hosting plan and your own domain. The SEO benefits of Wordpress over Blogger will pay for the hosting and domains quickly.

For those that have absolutely $0 to invest, start some great hubpages.com and/or squidoo.com pages - you can promote Amazon (and other merchants) on these and earn money without investing a penny (or cent!)

I agree if you really have $0 to invest using a web 2.0 properties like hubpages, squidoo lens, weebly to make money online. Do note that web 2.0 like hubpages and squidoo lens are profit sharing meaning part of your revenue goes to hubpages or squidoo.

Blogger allows you to integrate and advertise Amazon products. I say go for it. Once you make some cash I would suggest to invest the money made back into your business and get a good domain and webhosting. You have better control of your internet business.
