does anyone know what is the age when high blood pressure problem occurs in women ? i tried hunting for it wasnt able to find specific answer to it. just doin some research on it please help.
I think high blood pressure can occur at any age. One female member of my family had high BP at the age of thirty, another was in her seventies before it increased.
I am 27 and have high blood pressure but Doc says no real reason for it, just eat healthy, excercise and low alcohol intake. I just have to monitor mine regularly luckily they haven't put me on tablets just yet...
Sammie's right - high BP can cause problems at any age. A pretty normal BP is 120/80 mmHg and there's no real need for any medication for anything less than 140 systolic or 100 diastolic. Some of the causes of high BP are obesity, alcohol, diabetes mellitus, renal diseases, endocrine diseases and pregnancy. I can tell you that some of the classic symptoms of high BP are headaches and visual disturbance, with severe prolonged cases resulting in end organ failure like left ventricular hypertrophy (the left chamber of the heart thickens), transient ischaemic attacks (also called 'mini strokes'), myocardial infarction, angina, cerebrovascular accident (stroke) and renal impairment. Info from my favourite book, the Oxford Handbook of General Practice.
i was just looking for the average age from when high blood pressure starts building up and occurs ocassionally or more often in women, seems like 25+ is the age.
Bp Has No Age -- But Womend Who Are Obese -- Or Suffering From Gynae Problem Are Tend To Have More Bp --- As Such No Age -- Butarnd 35 --when Ustart To Feel It
It doesn't have a specific age to happen .. It's possible to happen to a newly born child and it might happen to a dying old man i guess.
I had high blood pressure when I was 18- no apparent reason, not overweight or any disease. Hereditary in my case, I think, as my mother has had it for most of her life, and my father does now. When I got pregnant however, it was normal, no longer high.
