Blogspot to Wordpress hosted on its own domain - possible negative effects?

I have a blog that is about 8 months old, which I built on blogspot. I am closing in on almost 500 posts and would like to port my blog over to its own designated domain (so that I can work more with meta tags, keywords, etc. - would also like to actually control the look of my blog, so that it coincides with the overall theme of the blog).

I'm obviously concerned about trying to port over so much content - but my main concern right now is going to be on SEO on my blog. I've got it tied to a few social media campaigns, and have been getting a lot of exposure to it due to its content and keyword selection, etc. Suffice it to say that traffic has been picking up on it exponentially over the past 60 days. In addition, it's been picked up by google alerts.

I don't currently make any money on my blog, it's strictly been more of a hobby than anything else. But considering the fact that I work in media, and that it's opened up a lot of doors with companies about possible editorial and advertising opportunities, I don't want to completely screw myself by porting it over if I am going to lose all the hard work I've done so far. Not to mention, I would like to start monetizing my blog in the very near future.

Does anyone have advice, suggestions, etc on this? ANY insight would be appreciated!
