I'm a newbie to blogging, I have started to put together some articles for a blog which will link to my xtreme sports forum with lots of content on surfing, bmx guides etc. I aren't sure which is the best way to go about this: Do I use blogspot or buy a domain name close to my forums name xtreme365 ie xtreme365blog etc Also is wordpress user friendly as I only have a bit of knowledge of html etc After reading these forums content seems to be the key along with links am I right in thinking that?
I would recommend buy your own domain name get a free hosting for eg freehostia.com or 000webhost.com, install your own WP, in this way you will have full control over what you are doing and what you intend to do in the future. Wordpress is one of the most user friendly I have ever seen no worries on that.
I have taken your advice and bought another domain! I have loads of hosting space so I'm gonna stick it on there. I've just install wordpress now and are now looking at installing a new theme. Didn't think it would be this easy to install
Just download the theme into the theme folder, login to WP Manage and change the theme, it is as simple as that
