I am planning to create a blog, but, I am torn between Blogspot or Wordpress. Which do you think is better guys?
Wordpress all the way.Becz it really easy to install and u can have the plugins from my signature. Cheers
I'm going to buck the trend here and say that Blogger is a great place to cut your teeth if you're brand new to blogging. If you get serious in the future you can migrate your Blogger blog across to your own domain, or upgrade to WordPress. For the experienced user WordPress is great.
Dont think that wordpress is that hard to manage or install. You just need to have a proper guideline and thats it.
Go to asmallorange.com get their mini plan which is like $25 for a year Go to Fantastico, intalling Wordpress is as easy as clicking a button
I am assuming that if you are on DP that your goal is to make money from your site. If this is the case, even if you are just cutting your teeth, start with your own domain on your own host. Going with a free host is should not even be an option for a professional site.
By the way, WP.com does not allow advertisiments on the site. They're thinking about allowing Adsense, but it's not there yet- meaning almost no $$ for you on their free site
Both software programs have their advantages. I think for people who are new to blogging, light on HTML experience and don't know what PHP is might find it easier to start with Blogger. You can host your own domain on Blogger's servers (using custom domains) and it can rank well. That being said, Wordpress is not too difficult to use. It is more expandable and can have more add-ons. However, some of the features and the array of options can be overwhelming to some. Both can be hosted at your own hosting company, but Wordpress requires PHP/SQL. Some hosts even have a custom hosting option for blogging. I use both and have posted and discussed it here on this forum before.
I have both program and i think its fine. Blogger have their own unique style and wordpress also have their advantages. I believe most of you already try both right?
