Hi, Both the blog sites are very popular for blogging but both of them have their advantages and disadvantages. Wordpress : It has many useful plugins that can be easily implemented. You can put as many categories before publishing the blog. You can set tags according to your desire taht you want for your blog post. Last but not the least you can also easily view new comment in front of your dashboard even if you don't moderate it. Besides advantages it has some cons like you require a good knowledge of PHP and javascript. Also you should have knowledge o using FTP client to upload files if you have problem in uploading from your own server. Implementing new templates and plugins can be so hard sometimes. Blogspot: This blog sites is very user friendly which can be used by any newbie. Its free and has many templates. Also it doesn't require to have well known Java, PHP script language and no need to own any domain hosting. Besides these advantages it has some demerits too. It doesn't have the comment form like wordpress. Also it doesn't have useful plugin such as comment author photo, recent comment and post, Top commenter, Blog statistic and many more. So it depends on your requirement and knowledge which you should use.

Blogspot is easy to use but it has not much feature same as wp. You would need to use wp as it has really good plugin to make you easy to get traffic and ping all your articles to SB. Just wp need you to pay for hosting and domain and if you use subdomain .wordpress.com then you will not be able to use plugin at all. So, buy hosting and domain if you need genuine blog to earn moeny.
WP definitely has more features and plugins available. If you're looking for quicker short term rankings in Google you'll probably want to use blogspot
