I suggest wordpress.... NEITHER HAS BETTER SEO!.... u might wanna research what SEO actually is lol... You control it all on both but you will get much more flexibility with wordpress because not only are there like a million more templates then there are with blogger but you have COMPLETE control of pretty much everything relating to the blog. Even if you choose to hav the wordpress blog hosted with wordpress... stupid decision if you do.... you can change everything... Spend 10 bux on a domain.... 10 bux for a month hosting and just do it.... Better yet.. try both of them... you will quickly find the one you like more. Both have their own features that make each of them unique thus why both are popular.
i prefer Wordpress.... wordpress: many plugins so much user friendly we can develop custom applications coz you have complete control on the source code and using appropriate plugins you can get your site indexed easily (may b within 1 hour) you can integrate with other scripts too etc etc etc blogger its free so you need not worry about bandwidth or hosting payment has good seo too but then that depends on other factors like how frequently you post, etc My suggestion: blogspot would be great if you are a starter or you dont want to spend few bucks on hosting
Nobody seems to have noticed this statement of yours Between a free wordpress blog and a free blogger blog, go for Blogger. Wordpress.com does not allow you to sell links or advertisements on your blog. If you do so, your account will be banned for violating their TOS. They are planning to introduce a paid upgrade soon ( Pay money for the privilege of displaying ads), but I'm not sure how soon will that soon be.
I have hosted my own domain on my dedicated server and i am using the wordpress.org and not on wordpress.com. I can add any ads i want on it plus with the great support of free plugins and templates it's really a paradise here. I will not change it for nothing else. Viva WP!!! P.S Now i saw your question indeed. I vote in that case on blogger instead of wordpress.com mate. Regards plimper
blogspot blogs get indexed easily but then it depends on factors like how frequently you post or update your blog that frequently your blog pages get indexed whereas in case in of wordpress though the blogs may not get indexed directly without doing nething(in less time) you can use plugins which make that possible (almost less than an hour you can see your post in google) sorry even i didnot notice the point that he was asking about free wordpress.com well then my suggestion would b blogspot is good as told you cant add adsense or sell link...when i strted i jus gave a try at wordpress.com i felt it was hard to use wordpress but then when i installed wordpress on my hosting i felt it was easiest thing and much user friendly
wordpress, hands down. u hear many blogspot sites got banned because of the violations?? wordpress is better for me, i swtiched from yahoo 360, to blogspot to finally self-hosted wordpress domain name
I would say Wordpress on you own domains. Seriously im addicted to it, and all of my sites are running perfectly on wordpress.
IMHO Wordpress is better simply because of the ability to customize your themes. Of course that is dependent upon installing Wordpress on your domain and not using wordpress.com
Free : Blogspot - Easy, Simple, Can use Ads(Not allowed on free Wordpress) Self Hosted : Wordpress - More power than Blogspot.
Although blogger.com offers services with flexibility, I recommend Wordpress to you. By using wordpress you could do whatever you want with the full control of your site, and a good TLD if you like. That doesn't cost much.
I will go with wordpress definitely. Why? User friendly, looks more professional, many template available in the net, more flexible, more control over your blog, you can add plugins for SEO purposes, etc....
Blogger can be just as SEO friendly as WordPress. Just depends on how you go about it. Google 'blogger hacks' and you will see that by adding directly to your HTML within Blogger, you can increase your ranking ten fold. Same goes for templates. Again, Google 'blogger themes' or 'blogger templates'. Lots of templates with AJAX, WEB 2.0, FLASH, etc.
You can do a lot with blogspot on a shoestring budget. And you can publish on your own domain. but for serious bloggers/publishers, WP is the way to go, long term.
SEo depends o how much time are you putting to it. It doesn't matter if is blogspot or wordpress. I just like to host my own site since I'm accepting some paid post.
Wordpress doesn`t allow using Java scripts or sell private ads, you may get banned if doing so. It`s always better to get your own domain name and hosting, they both cost as much as a cup of coffee.
