Do sites like Blogspot all have the same pagerank? Having a site like giants10.blogspot.com does that have the overall pagerank of blogspot.com or does Google count them separately as two different sites?
All blogspot blogs count as separate sites. Install the Google toolbar and you'll see different PRs when you browse to different blogs.
It counts them separately because it is a subdomain but you can still achieve a pr 1 - 5 fairly easily with a bit of hard work.
Counts them separatly, install alexa (toolbar/addon) and google page rank (toolbar/addon), these 2 are a must.
asholer, alexa gives different rank for xxx.blogspot.com and for blogspot.com. search in for labnol.blogspot.com and blogspot.com. giants10, its subdomain so different page ranks.
No, each URL will have a separate PR value of it's own and it's all based on the content and backlinks to that particular URL
yes, blogger blog is different than the main domain. If you don't promote your blog.sometimes it never can be seen by search engine.
all blogs on blooger are subdomains, and google count subdomains as a seprete website, for your kind information.
Think about it, if all blogspot/blogger had alexa ranking 9 then blogs will overflow the search engines and it would be unfair to other web hosts who use Bluehost and Hostmonster. The answer is that Google consider them separately and the Alexa ranking 9 is the publicity of the web site Blogger.com in general, not the users who use their services.
they are seperate but i dont understand why people would put all that hard work into a site that you dont own.
Because most novices started from there and it's a good platform to learn without spending anything for acquiring domain and hosting.
Sometimes it's because their popularity and monetary success is still acquired that way. I think some people are expected to have a blog, too. But I agree - don't like investing effort in a blog when I can have a website. On the other hand, the ownership is not a title. People do have to renew their domain name for a fee - right? I may register for 100 years next time around -
It count as separate domain, because it was a subdomain. The unique of the blogspot is the alexa rank if the subdomain wasn't develop well it will bring the blogspot.com alexa rank. But if the site well manage it will bring it's alexa rank. It different when we build some domain and take some subdomain on it. It will bring the same alexa rank from the main domain. Hope it clearly explain.thanks
