    Berserker,

I understand your interest in having a site that appears more functional and one which you feel you can monetize better than a blog. My thought is that a blog is the ideal platform for creating a high PR site because of the ability to make it a community and the ability to drive traffic to it using the Social media sites. So, I would suggest you stay with the blog platform which seems to be what you are familiar with.

However, you can pretty much create the sites you have left links for with a WordPress theme that allows you to set up a static front page and various other page formats with a blog as the base (blog included). One such theme is the WPremix theme here: http://wpremix.com.

You can also purchase the developer package and use this theme on as many sites as you wish! I love this theme and hope you will too! Check it out!

    Hope this helps!
