Well both blogs as well as forums do very well on the Serps because both of them are very frequently updated and as we all know serps love frequently updated webpages with fresh content. But if you are planning to start a new blog then i would say that blog is easier to promote then forum but you have to upload fresh content daily or weekly depending on your niche. As far as forums are concerned you have to do a little hard work initially but when it has some amount of registered members then it generates lot of passive income. After the forum is set you hardly have to work. If you are lazy like me then go for forum.
