Blogs vs Ezines vs Squidoo

Where do you post your best articles - the ones you spend some time on?

Is your own blog, or ezines or squidoo best? (I don't want to put them on a page in my own site as I've already got a link to my site from the likes of Digg, mixx etc whereas an article/blog/lens I could start from scratch.)

I'm new to the blogging scene - if you put a good article into a blog, will Google devalue it as time goes by or will it still be worth something in a year or so if you get the links.

How often do you HAVE to create new blog entries for Google to give you the value of backlinks? Note that I am not interested in traffic from blogs, just backlinks.

You need to post your article on ezine, it's rank is very high then rewrite it and post it on your site. most articles can be rewritten 3 or 4 times, do this 10 times and you'll benefit from it down the road, dont look at clicks look at the seo factor, I paid for 10 articles in one or two keywords, now I just ordered 10 more in another keyword it is well worth it, if it's a quality article some people may link back to your site though most will steal it and rewrite it.

Many thanks jimbozs2000. Does everyone else agree that ezines are the way to go?

Sure ezine currently has a 6/10 PR, but to tell you the truth, I just pulled an article from ezine in favor of posting to my own blog. Why? Because I am frustrated wtih ezine's restrictions for one. They seem like they're getting extraordinarily picky with their editing. For example, they rejected my submission because I use my business name in the third person in the body of my article (not trying to sell anything). In addition, they restrict me to only two links in my sig box (I want four!)

I don't want the hassle of these ridiculous rules. And, why should I give my hard work away to someone else? I'd rather use the original content on my blog to help my own blog ratings directly and to enrich my google ads there.

If you spend time creating a good blog article - do the links in this article stay with you for the duration or do they get devalued over time? That is, do you HAVE to keep on producing more and more posts for SEO backlinks?

I've just started a blog on Opera - seems easy to use, as opposed to Wordpress which is a pain - is it any good SEO-wise?

I don't believe in Squidoo or Ezines. Better search for articles related to that web page then try to get link from it through comments or advertising.

That is the best and most effective move, i guess but it consumes lots of time at first.

Here's what you need to do:

Have your money site, and have a blog on there. Update it about 3 times a day (share information you found pertaining to your industry).

Then, what you will do is create other blogs at sites like zimbio, wetpaint, squidoo and more. But create a new one for every article you write.

You should diversify your link building strategies. There's no reason why you should only have links from one site.

Your links are not devalued, ever. They are simply just not as relevant because of their age. Google likes new stuff, that's why there is such an SEO war, and that is why the ranking changes daily.

The newer, better information, will show up first.

So would a few updates to a blog post - like a few updates to a website page - keep your blog post giving the seo link juice?

If you update your site more than that, Google may mark it as spamming.

SEO link juice won't be increased by new blog posts.

You must create and distribute articles to as many web 2.0 sites as possible. For every blog post you create, you should spin it and distribute it, then link the created blogs and web 2.0 sites to the blog posting most similar to the posted article.

Great question..one that is asked a lot. I think the most honest answer in my experience is why choose? The great thing about owning rights to your article is the ability to spread it around. Whenever I write a really good article I do my best to get it circulated into every article directory, social bookmarking spot, and ask bloggers to use it as a guest post...if your article sucks you will be wasting your time, but if it's quality you can really leverage some great networks.

If you really want your article to be viewed more often, ezines would be the best site to submit.. You can also maintain your own blog and in your ezine article, link back to your blog..
