Q's Wire my personal blog is a WordPress blog that I started in November '04. I originally installed the blog as a subdirecory of qisoftware.com. In August '07 I made it a subdomain of qisoftware.com:
    old link: qisoftware.com/qblog -- new link: qblog.qisoftware.com

Q's Wire... had a pagerank of 4. The old link-- qisoftware.com/qblog still has a pagerank of 4. The new link [qblog.qisoftware.com] has no pagerank.

Technorati and Google PR still give the old link more rank. The old link is also listed with DMOZ.org. I requested that they change the link.

Does anyone know when the new blog link will start to pick up pagerank? It is affecting payment for posts.

I have a software redirect from the old link to the new. Alexa and my site stats indicate Q's Wire gets about 35% of the site's overall traffic. I do not understand why the ranking is not changing.

You need to do 301 redirect to ensure Google and other search engines recognize that you have moved your blog. Also why move the blog? If I was in your position, I would keep it at the same place!

Thanks Yogesh! I moved the blog because it was time to move on. I also deleted some of the main categories.

I will look into using a directive to redirect. I am finding posts on Google-- just not the PR.

PR transfer would take some time, especially considering Google hasn't done a full fledged PR update for quite a while.
