Hi All,

Whats best to link from Blogs or Forums?

Forums like DP lots of posts, but google does not seem to find them? (when you search google for sites linking DP does not seem to show in google)

Are forums worth having signatures in will it increase the PR on the site???

Yes, I see DP appears in Yahoo but not in google.

Forums in the past I have always used, as normal like DP I use as its a forum that interests me, and I think sometimes I can offer advice and other times learn from it.

After finding a post with lots of other do follow forums, I wonder is it worth joining them to get more backlinks, and is there an ideal number of links to get from one forum?

I notice on DP you can sell on links.

 

Do both. Comment on some blogs with good posts and then come on forums like Digital Point or Webmaster Talk and make posts. Will get good traffic. Only thing with blogs is I always try and post on ones which are related to mine.

 

Do the forums need to be relevant? EG DP is webmaster based yet we all have different sigs not all related.

I am considering joining a body building one as thats a hobby of mine but all my sites are lotto related does that matter.

Is there a general idea if blogs or forums are better?

 

I have both. Depends on the niche, traffic, content and readers.

 

both of them are equal if you ask me. both rank well in search engines.

Who said DP links are not seen by Google? That is simply not true. i have so many back links from this forum and they help me so much in ranking, though i don't rank good as for now, i do think that i have a majority of links from DP.

You have so many post here, so it take time for Google to see the updates on the post, but they do see them and index them.

Bogs too are good. don't leave any stone unturned. Just as every dollar helps, every link helps

 

Google always pays high value to the DP backlinks.Do not ever ignore this fact and keep posting.

 

I personally do both. It can't hurt, and you can cross link them. You need to make sure that you don't have a selection on your blog options that prevents it from being crawled. I believe most popular blog sites make this option very obvious.

depends on the traffic the site gets.

you get hits from high traffic sites.

 

I would concentrate on both...as long as they belong to a niche relevant to my site and offers backlinks which are do-follow..

Thats kool but wierd, when I search for sites linking back to me in google DP does not show up, but in Yahoo DP does. Maybe I have not been a member long enough of something.

 

Oh I will keep posting on DP thats not in questions, to be honest I am on DP to learn, not just to build backlinks. This is a forum I use for genuine reasons. Just seems wierd they are not showing yet, but then Google is a beast that makes no sense!!

Ah well onwards, seems to be that blogs and forums are of equal value.

 

Thats a good point, maybe I am getting to worked up here on getting my PR back, and forgetting that actually traffic is the key and as I get that its really not so much of an issue!

 

Both are good but I preffer blogs, the forums have more outgoing links !
