Blogs may have been part of the AdSense vs YPN war

I recieved an email that stated since blogger.com is owned by Google, they offer the service for FREE for bloggers. And they advertise and promote that the blogs can use AdSense on them, this not only makes money for the blog owners but for Google and blogger.com

It seems all my blogs were removed just after I removed my AdSense code and replaced it with YPN code.........

I have heard that a couple others who had their blogs recently voided also, had ypn code on them also.... This could be nothing, but......
I smell a greedy monopoly RAT

It's called keeping the competition off your servers. it's like owning a Taco Bell and then selling Taco Time food and geting dumped, and then complaining about it!!!

Google wouldn't be shy about putting something like that in their Blogspot ToS if they were going to do that.

They are very upfront about what they won't allow to appear on a page with adsense, after all.

Perhaps they just haven't updated their ToS yet?

On an almost unrelated note -- people who build content and links for domains they do not own confuse the heck out of me.

Got a blog -- get a domain and some decent web hosting.

That's just my opinion -- and the Corona agrees with me.

Yeah, Will I've recently come around to your way of thinking on that. Starting to transition to all paid hosting sites, still have a few blogger blogs at this point though.

Same here; I'm not going to trust my blogs to anyone else but myself.

Who do you trust your blogs too or how do you host them yourself?

I thought about everyone used blogger.com or one of the other big free sites.

I tried 'wordpress' but my host does not offer support for my sql or php.

I don't think it would be worth it to buy a whole domain and hosting etc for just blogs would it ? I mean my blogs were fun to work on and watch grow, but they added or only were the source of maybe 5% of my ypn income etc.

Well, if you own one domain for a non-blog website and have paid hosting, you can usually add unlimited subdomains for free.

I have one particular registetered domain that besides hosting a site, also does a lot of the "heavy lifting" for several of my free sites (hosting images and scripts, etc). I am beginning to move my related blogs onto subdomains of that account.

If they were higher earners I wouldn't hesitate to give each its own domain, though.

asmallorange will host for $30 year. Use them for a few sites. Step it up and start to blog for real. Could always use subdomains if you dont want to buy more than one domain.

If a site is really important to you, don't trust it to a free server. You don't have any control of it!

As others said, if you have another webhoster (you said 5% of YPN), throw the blog there. If it's such a cheap webhoster, that doesn't support php, change webhosting. There are very cheap packages out there! And if you are making money...
