I must say in recent times I've become involved in blogs and now run a couple of my own. I am a little alarmed at my potential to become very lazy, and instead of develop a full site to install Wordpress in 5 minutes, spend an hour changing the theme around and then use it to post news items, articles or even recipes, how-to's and so forth. How many of you have bought a domain, not known what to do with it and stuck a blog there instead as a quick fix? I must admit to that just a few days ago. I decided that it would take me some months to getting around to developing a site to review paid posting companies (I bought the domain a month or two ago with the intent to create a large resource of information on the subject), so instead installed WordPress and started putting my reviews up that way. I'm actually very happy with the way it looks and how I can categorise everything, though I am just a little worried that I'll be taking this easy route again in the future. Cheating, or are people just getting more innovative with their use of blogs?
I wouldn't call using blogs lazy. I see blogging software as another great productivity tool, which will free my time to develop to new ideas. IF a blog is the suitable format for what I want to do, why re-invent the wheel?
I agree with you. Why not use the blog, if you want to make small website, updated often, where people can comment ?
