I have two blogs that are about 3 months old. They slowly started getting some traffic from google and they got to about 50 uniques a day each from Google while they were PR0. Not alot but it was encouraging. They are now PR3 but traffic has died to about half a dozen visitors a day. When I use the site:www. domainname .com quries it only gives the homepage some wordpress directories and this; "In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 10 already displayed. If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included." Also for one of the blogs the number of indexed pages went from about 200 down to 40 pages. One blog seems to slowly be getting a bit of traffic back but nowhere near what it was getting. So my question is what causes this type of thing? Is it due to using a wordpress template so pages look similiar? What I can I do to fix it?
Well, my sites report on technical product reviews. I write a short intro then paste a paragraph or so from the review site then a link to that site. Not entirely original content but it's a blog format many people are very sucessful with including Darren Rowse. I thought duplicate content refered to entire sites/pages being duplicated exactly? I do wonder though with blog software a particular post can appear several times over a blog at any given time; on the front page, in the monthly archive and then in any category archive (sometimes things can be in 2 or 3 categories as well). Is that considered dupe content? One of my sites, if anyone cares to have a look and give me some advice www.digitaltvspot.com
I also have such problem. Indexed pages delete from Google even it has got a pagerank of 3. How should I do?
Sometimes they will run accross duplicate content...usually found in article farms and just get rid of it all. Also, look in google blog directory...maybe you were migrated that way.
