I have a site dedicated to selling suits. The site is recognized as a suit site by search engines, but there's only so much content I can add to it. I want to add some new articles, blogs, etc about current events and business topics. Stuff that would appeal to people who buy suits. There isn't that much news about suits and most people don't look for suit news anyways. I'm afraid the search engines will start to look at my suit site as just a general news site if I dd this. Would it be better if I just made a seperate news/blog site and linked my suit site or would it be better to put everything on the same site, hopefully increasing the Google pagerank? thanks, ph111
you can add the blog on the current site under blog folder and then add the link to your bblog on your navigation. just take a look at my site to see how its done. there is a main site and a blog as well. having the blog on the navigation means thats part of the site.
Not necessary that you have to add everything related to suit (i assume you are talking about clothing related suit), then why not add a blog on your site as a sub folder and blog about anything related to suit, like fashion, clothing industry, the possibilities galore, don't just go in for general news category, that will confuse the search engines a lot, already there are millions of general news sites for them to deal with
Yeah, my suit site is for people to order custom tailored suits online. I forgot to mention I'm also using Joomla. If there's already lots of general news sites, I'll make sure I only have fashion related articles on it. To increase traffic even more, I'll put other categories like job classifieds, general news, etc on the other site possibly with a .org version of the domain and link the two together. When everthing is finished, I can show you the links if you want for constructive criticism. Thanks for the help.
