Blogs and static sites vs. AStore

How many people here use Amazon on their blog or static website vs. having a ASstore? At Triggit we have a lot of bloggers and static website publishers using our amazon link tool for placing Associate links. But I am curious about how many of the hardcore Amazon associates use blogs and static website rather then using AStore. Are there any bloggers or static publishers here who do well using Amazon?

    Any thoughts?

    Zach,

only my 2 cents here, but using blogs in addition to static sites works well for me (From an seo benefit). Astores work well when integrated into such sites and not on their own as they seriously suck when you land on a standard astore page with no content apart from the iframe being pulled from amazon.

Scripts work better and are somthing i am now experimenting with after having pretty good success with astores its now time to develop a more customised approach to amazon marketing.

Generally astores work better for me as I focus on natural seo on niche products and being able to build content of my own with a link to my astore rather than just booting them on to amazon. This way my conversions have peaked at oveer 65% with an average for each month at 35%. But every one of my sites are set up to look like they sell the product, and really is not until payment is requried that they are booted to amazon.

Having an astore may not look as professional for people writing reviews etc so a text link would probably convert better.

There are several plugins out there similar to triggit for replacing blog text with a-links, seems to be a very usefull tool for people who write alot of content based review etc how does one test as it is in beta as we speak.

Interesting. A 65% conversion rate is awesome. Well done. We'd love to have you test out Triggit. We are looking for more pro Amazon affiliates to try it and tell us what they think. You can signup at http://www.triggit.com/amazon.

I look forward to hearing what you think.

I don't use aStore as the indexing of an aStore is a little bit hard

    Linkmanager,
How do you create your links? We originally built our tool for placing pictures and videos in a website. But recently lots of people are using it to place Amazon Associate links. They like it because they can build a deep link in about five seconds.

How do you build your links on your static website? Do you go through the Amazon website each time or do you have a speedier method?

Thanks for the responses, we are trying to understand the serious Amazon associates better.

    Hi Zach,

yes most times i use a direct product landing page via the normal amazon site, I have just recenty started using amazon xml feeds via associate feed generator. This would only be for content though which as pixads says it better than the astore as the content within an astore does not get indexed.

Generally product imags are saved and renamed, then embedded into the content of the site rather than loading the image from amazon servers as a normal feed image would.

A good tool is the associates feed generator, which can create rss and xml feeds.

I have just recently started experimenting with other scripts like the Amazon Shop by GS.

Customization is a little harder though.

Your product would work great if simply wanting to hot link to an amazon product page for when writing about a product but may not be suited for someone wanting to create a product description on thier site which covertly looks like the porduct is sold from that site. I find conversions are better when you fool the visitor to think that you actually sell the product, then its not until they are ready to pay that they are booted off to amazon to enter payement shipping details, this is a great feature of astore and shost scripters script. I dont be by any means mis represent yourself but just covertly hide the fact that its sold by amazon.

Ahh, now I understand. Let me do a little digging around and see if we can get our tool to do that. Shouldn't be very hard. Good luck this holiday season.

I just have my first sale at Amazon using astore. Astore will work with targeted traffic and if used in conjunction with a blog with related contents.

I primarily use an astore embedded into a page to compliment a website. Since visitors are already interested in the topics of a site, an astore with relevant items can improve the user experience (and generate sales).

    Pickianeme,
How do you use your blog? Are you mostly posting reviews to specific products and a couple links or just dropping in Amazon links where they seem to make sense?

One of the things I am curious about is placing links to Amazon that are not the subject of the post. Because it is so easy to build links to Amazon using Triggit (a couple seconds per link) some of our publisher are placing lots and lots of links in a post. It seems to work. Has anyone else found an advantage if you place lots of links? Does the increase in clicks and cookies being placed work out for incidental sales? It seems during the holiday season it might work pretty well since people are in a shopping mood.

    What do you guys think?

    Zach
