I received the e-mail as well, and I wasn't really that surprised. I stopped using BlogRush a long time ago, I didn't receive much traffic from it. - Jens
Sad to heard that,i had been using them since they started and it do drive me traffic but not a lot. And it their choice whether want to stay or leave So,farewell to BlogRush
I think it had great marketing but was so poorly planned as far as effectiveness that it should have shut down awhile ago. I never used it as I wanted to see how it went first but I saw from many websites and heard on here how terrible it was.
Heard this thing first time. is it some kind of wordpress blog widget? what you guy use it for? feed reader or something?
An advertisement for something that's shutting down? You haven't quite got the hang of advertising, have you.
Failure is normal in business. So it's better shutting down than wasting more time and energy for nothing.
I'm not surprised to be honest. BlogRush was a great idea but the basis for the system was fundamentally flawed. It's nice to see they've realised that though - it's just a pity it was too late.
There is no "we." It is just him. I'm laughing so hard I can barely type this out. Even when quitting his ghost town of a site he still lies about it.
I wasn't surprised by the email either blogrush was worthless as far as traffic went, mybloglog brings in more visitors then blogrush ever did good by BR
Glad to see it go, it was worthless and the amount of traffic it did bring was not worth the real estate it took up. Not everything will succeed, no matter who started it. This is just a good example of that and i am glad John chose to dump the idea and move on.
Moral of the story: everyone can fail, even the much-hyped and those - like John Reese - with a solid reputation in marketing circles. And I guess it's a reminder that you'll never get anywhere, anyways, if you never attempt anything - even with the possibility of a very public failure. Sorry if it sounds like a speech
Tried it on a blog about a year ago, then they shut the service down to work out all the bugs. I never got any traffic from the original version, and never installed the 2nd. And so it goes.
Yes you are correct brand35! Nobody gets anywhere with out trials and tribulations.. Many of the greatest inventions in the world where conceived out of many failed experiments. Here is a blog post to the announcement about BR no more on his personal blog. http://www.income.com/blog/2008/10/29/the-death-of-blogrush/ It has lots of comments and shows how well the guy is known through out the blogosphere. RIP BlogRush
it was NOT working for sure, had it on my blog for sometime but got no traffic in return, later i had removed it, its been a long time now... yesterday i read it about being shut down, no point running something that is useless.
Never heard of BlogRush before. Still sad to hear they are shutting down. I'm curious why they didn't just sell the site???
