I'm one of the many who have used BlogRush on my blog - Arsenal FC Blog - after plugs from ProBlogger and the like, but have been very disappointed with the result. I've had around 1,500 impressions from BlogRush but only 2 click-throughs. From everything I have heard, most people are in the same boat. How about you guys?
BlogRush runs on impressions and the box it uses doesn't to me seem to attract readers to it. It is basically a post exchange and would expect results similar to any type of exchange program. Heck, arcade exchanges do a 2.XX% - 3.XX% exchange rate. This I think since it is not a flashy banner will be below that amount. I am thinking around 0.08% - 0.09% conversion rates. I would drop it like it is hot, cause conversion rates on it is only going to go down. Cons Only 5 posts on the widget at a time. ->>Hrm, millions of posts in there database only 5 are shown in the widget. ->>You have a 100 page blog how many times is yours shown? I see no monitoring of placement of the widgets. I seen places put the widgets in non visible spots on the blog, if not hiding the entire thing with <div style="display:none"></div> still having it run but not showing to the end user. ->>This, earns them impressions. ->>Wasting your impressions. ->>and pulling your visitors (targeted to thier site). Hell, they have errors on it now and I believe will not actively monitor for bad placement of the widget block. This is impression based. I send a bot to a page with the widget upon it and have the bot load the page X number of times. Will it count those impressions? Cheating? Reducing your impressions (no visitors), improving there impressions, and getting your targeted visitors. .
i had been using it a few days ago, however im still not get any traffic from blogrush yet.. will expect much within this few weeks
I just dropped the widget. It loads way too slow and according to analytics, more than 70% of my visitors are new visitors who won´t wait too long for a website loading too long. Besides, the CTR was way too low, I only get up to 0.15%. And why the hell is that widget not cutomizable at all?
Blogrush is an absolute joke. The guy running it is using it just to collect website that data that he can then sell to other companies. Blogrush is nothing more than a banner exchange using headlines instead. Would you participate in a banner exchange? No. So why use blogrush?
I agree it might bring in a few new users, but for the most part it is just a traffic exchange program. A very weak and broken traffic exchange. Is the gains really worth the data they get to collect from us? I had not considered they will be collecting data on the visitors and could sell it to other companies. I already removed them, but this goes to show that they should be removed anyways.
There is an article here. Also, it might be worth checking this article out from ProBlogger. Maybe we should just be patient at this stage and see how things pan out...
I am not seeing much from blogrush yet. I've had it installed for about a week. When I go to their site and login to my account, it tells me that the reports aren't active yet. So I can't really see what they are giving me. Sitemeter doesn't really show impressions from them yet either. I am going to let it play out for a couple of months and see what happens.
Sounds like a good idea. There has been so much interest in this thing but so far it doesn't seem to be showing any results at all. One can only hope some developments are made to better the results for users. I'm also going to let it play for a while, until I get word from one of the blogging 'experts' that it's not a good idea to.
Blogrush said that the clickthroughs listed in the report are wrong and they are fixing it. I have to say though I have gotten a boost from blogrush. I used to be getting 5-8 uniques a day, but now I am getting 20-30.
