I just thought I'd return to keep you all updated. Last night I decided I should create my own spider for blogoo, and so this morning I have been working hard on it. So far, so very, very good. The spider has indexed ~4,000 different websites, in around 20 minutes. If you check your stats, there's a chance that you'll see a visit (or more) from "blogoobot" Soon I'll be integrating it into blogoo. Keep posted!
Hi Spirit Walker, I have just submitted my link building blog to your new search engine and generally checked it out. I really liked the presentation, professional and clean. The magnifying glass was a nice touch. A couple of small criticisms. When I submitted I ended up doing it twice because you have a 'submit' for adding your URL and a submit for submitting it. Secondly it would be helpful to have a nice easy way to add a screen shot, like the digital point signatures for instance (even though I can't seem to change mine now in dp). I think what you are doing is really interesting and I wish you the best of luck with it. Since it is just kicking off, could you market on exclusivity ?.. just a thought, Monker
Excellent news everyone! My spider (named BlogooBot ) is almost complete. The results are very promising indeed. See for yourself:
brum, my blog is not submitted correctly for the title it give the usrl and for the url it gives the tile. How can I edit my record using the unique key?
Ah, no worries mate. I'll fix it. At the moment you're given the key for when the user-edit part has been coded. I've been so busy on the spider I haven't finished that yet. I should have the user-end finished within the next couple of days. If anyone has any problems 'til then, shoot me a PM. I'm always online.
Thank you very much. As we speak I'm testing the final version of my spider. It seems to be running very well at the moment. Fingers crossed that it'll go as planned, then I can finish the project with the user/admin back end Update: Using a mere 78 blogs as a basis, over 1,000 more were found, verified and indexed.
People who submit their blogs are the ones who need thanking While the website may only display 57 verified blogs, my spider has found 6,446 blogs. I will be adding them shortly.
Here's another update for those of you interested: 1. I've replaced the default images given to blogs that do not have their own screenshot, I think they look much better. 2. Current online indexed blogs is 6,548 - however the amount spidered offline and ready to be added to the online site is a whopping 28,446 and rising as we speak! 3. The search function has been improved. 4. You can now sift through pages of results instead of them all being dumped onto one page. Thanks, Brum.
Thanks. Well, I've just stopped my spider for today, and the grand total is 30,027 indexed blogs. Check the site again in a few minutes and you'll see
