If anybody wants a blog, then get WordPress, you can download a plugin for ads, and you can customise the template for ads too! Also, there is another plugin that enables site feeds for google - after posting, commenting or manually clicking; it will create a feed for google (site.xml[.gz]) and then ping the google server for you. This creates a mini-index for google to check, so you get more pages indexed, and crawled. I link to my other sites in the posts, and then back to the blog in the sites, so that I force a loop for google to index. WordPress can run multiple blogs off 1x100MB MySQL, just by changing two letter when configging the install. I have mine running off 1&1 Business Package (basic, I know - but only £5.99).
