I'm trying to get some back links to my Cajun Recipes website. I do not have a blog but am considering setting one up. I have a few questions and would like any suggestions you guys can offer: 1) What blogging 'engine' should I use? Looks like wordpress has plugins that are geared towards seo. 2) I'm not so sure how I would go about integrating the blog into my website. Would I set up a subdomain like blog.hotcajunrecipes.com? How would I get the backlinks to point to hotcajunrecipes.com instead? 3) I've read articles talking about link partners and adding your website/blog to your 'by line' information when submitting articles to article submission services. Are these geared more towards blogs than just regular sites like mine? I'm a bit confused on what would be my best course of action. As you can imagine, I'd like to get the most possible backlinks to my main site so that I can bolster it's ranking. Any advice is most appreciated ...
Wordpress is definitely the best blogging software. Plugins, customization, total control, and reliability...
Thanks. What about getting the links to my main site rather than the blog, or do I want them to go to the blog and then link back to the main site there? Would a better approach be to just write articles and submit them to free services? Any idea on how to gauge the interest in recipe/cooking articles?
Wordpress... definitely yes. As for the blog, the subdomain should go like www dot hotcajunrecipes dot com/blog/ (sorry, no live links for me yet..) ... most of the sites I'm working on has a blog like this. Article submissions are also a boost to your backlinks and traffic. You can always try to do both.
Seems that Google would be discounting forum signatures and blog post as valid links, but with a surge of these types of links i saw my sites rankings in Yahoo and MSN increase.
