Is there anybody that are familiar with Google trends and how to blog on the hot keywords from the hour. I have seen a case study on how one bloke uses Google trend to get 25 000 visitors a day from the keywords he gets in Google trends! Impressive right! And does anybody have a script that can take the newest released keywords and bring up related YouTube videos?
Due to my short time on this form I am not allow to use Hyperlinks. "copy and paste into browser" youtube.com/watch?v=BUg5XeraLmo howtospoter.com/web-20/blogging-web-20/want-traffic-get-trendy
I know a blogger that does just this. She does NOT get it to work every day. Actually, it really only worked well once for her and she got over 7000 hits. (She showed screen shots of her traffic.) But she keeps trying.
Well can "SHE" maybe show us how she is trying to do this as "WE" can put our heads around it and maybe discover the secretes of massive traffic!
If she picks one of the coming up hot trends and writes a post today, maybe she's get hammered with traffic if the trend continues to grow and the competition is weak. It makes sense.
I've taken this idea and put it up on my blog - I've been able to get 300 extra hits to my blog in a single day from using google trends. These 300 hits have come from google and google blog search respectively. I've only made about 5 trends posts altogether in the 24 hour period, the # of subscribers and repeat visitors I get is still yet to be seen, but already my daily traffic has doubled, if I keep it up I imagine it will triple and quadruple. My original post on Going Trendy = http://www.theresabloginmysoup.com/lets-get-trendy-google-trendy and my trends can be found here: http://www.theresabloginmysoup.com/one-day-to-lives-mackenzie-phillips-arrested-for-drug-possession http://www.theresabloginmysoup.com/del-martin-lesbian-gay-rights-activist-dies/ http://www.theresabloginmysoup.com/hurricane-gustav-track-get-the-latest-updates-on-hurricane-gustav http://www.theresabloginmysoup.com/vancouver-earthquake-rattles-the-western-seaboard/ http://www.theresabloginmysoup.com/tropical-storm-hannah-brews-could-she-become-hurricane-hannah/ These are all small blog posts that brought huge traffic. Here's a tutorial I wrote on google trends: http://www.theresabloginmysoup.com/how-you-can-capitalize-on-google-trends/ My advice is to perhaps write 1-2 google trends posts per day for a month and see if they increase your traffic, be sure to use the exact google trends keyword phrase as often as possible. I could go further and use comment Kahuna to find related do-follow blogs with those keywords and comment on them, but I didn't have the time to do that, I will try that though eventually and let you know the outcome.... Let me know if anyone else has had similar experiences..
As off yet I have not used these keywords in a Blog but have applied a keyword to a forum and managed to get 97 views and 14 replay’s back. As you can monitor the trend make a blog and post the same keyword on a forum and link that blog to the forum posting and vice versa, I believe there can be a formula in making a profit from this. I made a search in Google and found the post that I have submitted in the forum is first in the search engine ranking. I made the search about 3 hours after the posting. I hope there is a clued up person that read this and can put something together!
Competition doesn't necessarily have to be weak. She got tons of traffic writing about the Scot Peterson blog. Just have to hit it at the right time.
My Update from my project - I've managed 500+ hits from google alone (My top referrer is usually twitter as I have 5000+ followers)... Hurricane Gustav appears to be the number one article that has gotten the most incoming traffic. But beside from that I have managed to get 34 subscribers to my blog in a single night - from 165 to 199 overnight isn't bad, in fact it's pretty damn amazing. I didn't think using google trends would make the new visitors that sticky but apparently 16% of them enjoyed my blog enough to stick around and subscribe to it.
IM Glad for your new members on your site! so since you got them are they interacting with your blog or was it only once off. Another good idee is to keep posting using Google trends and submit your blog to Google news. Once they see you have fresh and new content espesialy the hot stories of the day your indexing wil become like clock work. Boosting your natural search!
This should work well for the blogs and websites that get indexed with in a few minutes of a post. I usually get a blog indexed within 30 minutes or less. I like the idea.
