Blogging HTML vs WordPress

I want to start blogging but I am not sure how to choose my home page to be in HTML or WordPress. I want to use a keyword domain with the main objective is to rank high in search engines.

I see a lot of websites that rank higher in search engines by having a basic HTML site and then a link to their blog. I've also in the past made a simple HTML website that rank #1 in just a few weeks. I don't want to take years for the website to rank in page 1 in search engines because is in wordpress.

Please share some of your experience and let us know what do you think.

    Thanks a bunch!

Well most business sites are built it with wordpress, they just look like a static website with "home" tab and "blog" tab modified because of the themes features.

Some premium themes or free themes (need to be modified) can make wordpress looks like a static website.

Wordpress sites are easier to rank in SERPs because it is a blog paltform, and if you post regularly, Google will love it.

When you really get in WP the stuff it can do will amaze most people. I have seen Forums running on WP, static sites running WP, squeeze pages running WP and Sales pages running of WP.

I guess I'm a WordPress fan boy because when ever I'm making a site I always turn to WP.

With all the themes that are available and the plugins I would be shocked if WP couldn't do what you want it to do.

And when i comes to SEO I dont think anything can really compete
