Blogging and Archiving

I have several blogs and I blog about a few websites or so. And I had a potential client ask me:

To me something like this would not make sense in blogging. For the fact even when it is cached. The backlink is still pointing to a site with PR. Other than that what would be the point of blogging. Than I would have to leave the blog on the front page and no longer blog for awhile(few months).

Maybe I need to take this to another section. I thought to ask it here first. But I hope there maybe someone who can help answer this for me to clarify.

    Thanks

Once cached the page will probably remain cached, though it will eventually get buried deep into the archive and have less value than when initially posted. As a blogger, you can do some things to ensure pages don't get lost so easily, like installing a related posts plugin and sitemap.

So, that I understand correctly, if I have all my blogs with a sitemap as well as related posts plugins. Than the archived/cached blogs will still be able to have a backlink to a blog with PR right?
