Bloggin using Wordpress

    I am new at this game and I am hearing that wordpress is a better blog application compared to blogspot.com

    Can anybody point me to where I can go to start using wordpress?

    so far I have downloaded wordpress 2.5.1 but I am stuck.
    do I need to host this blog unlike blogspot.com???

    any help is appreciated.

    Yes, if you download WordPress 2.5.1 you need to host it. If you don't want to host it yourself, you can sign up for a free blog at WordPress.com

    Here are the instructions for installing it: 5 Minute Installation, and here are some of the hosts WordPress recommends: WordPress Web Hosting.
