No, there is no auto-approval for adsense
One of my friends had adsense application through blogger rejected. The site was a bit spammy

Times have changed, blogger raises a red flag automatically. I would not apply with a free hosted url.

I thought I'd rather apply at Blogger than the regular way so I'd get in easier. Well, I always got the impression that if it's "just a blog" then it's easier to get in.

So I applied, got the Google AdSense Email Verification e-mail february 21st 3:18am and the Welcome to Google AdSense one february 23rd 0:12am

    *times are CET ;)

And WP blogs are so easy to setup too. If things go well it's a pain to convert...

My thing is this: If you can't spend $8/year on a domain and $5/month on hosting, why should Google Adsense trust you?

That makes a lot of sense.... if you really want to make $$$ with Google, why not invest to buy a webhost and a domain name. As far as I know, Yahoo or Godaddy are selling domain with just 2 or 3 bucks. You can buy it for couple of years. Any decent webhost does not cost you more than 100$. Buy a Php code of Ezpulish or smt like that can make your blog looks much more professional. And more importantly, you have total control over your blog rather than depend on others.

After you develop it a bit, your blog has information, at that time you can be confident that Google cannot refuse your application. Because at least, in the first sign, you have credibility for them to rely on.

I dont invest my money to a guy who does not even have a house ....

Actually I seen someone create an account with Blogger and got approved with an Adsense account within 24hrs - the Blog was fresh with no content which I found surprising.

Why wouldn’t you have a Blogger account as a sideline from your more serious work  Its free and only takes 10 or so minutes to post - just like email, which you get paid for with Adsense.

I was going to delete my Blogger account and once I started pulling traffic, not even a lot, the revenue on each click was enough for me to keep at it. Now I wouldn’t even consider stopping it.

I think google approve adsense on blogger a bit faster as it belongs to the same company. Their approval are based on what really? coz one of my blog was not spam at all but was rejected. I tried again it then was approved.

auto-approval for blogger...i think that's not entirely true. my friend who applied to adsense with a blogger account and ONE paragraph of content got rejected.

I introduced my friend to Adsense a week ago.
So she made a Blogger account.
    Post only three short post
Then apply for adsense through a refferal button she found (using Yahoo e-mail)

    Guess what,
the application was approved in mere hours.
(less than 7 hours to be exact)
