If you are new to blogging, try wordpress ... don't just settle for writing contents, explore what's within.

wordpress! hands down. Host it on your own server with a catchy domain name and this is the best way to go.

I have made a fortune with blogspot/blogger and when I had my own domains I made nothing. So I'm living proof that blogspot still works better

I prefer Blogspot as opposed to WordPress.com
    Simple Reasons:
    One:
WordPress simply banned an account which with minor links to their main site. This included you used WordPress plugins and post to their site.
Blogspot won't be so stringent and welcome you as long you did not break content piracy.

    Two:
I saw few WordPress.com blogs posted lots of content of which every single posting linked (masked with Tinyurl or other ) to affiliate site like Warrior forum, especially WSO.
I guess WP didn't know about that.

However, you can do whatever you want on blogspot.com as I said your content is unique and original.
    Hence, does WordPress TOC applicable?

Wordpress and Blogger both are the good platform for creating a good looking blog but wordpress supports more languages than blogger and also wordpress has more themes and more storage space for images than blogger.
If you want to create a blog and you are new for that then you go for blogger, it is easy to setup.

would be better use Blogger. why? because blogger more affects to SEO although not using custom TLD
also blogger has an ability to drag and drop any widget..and many awsome template on internet you can use
you dont need to upgrade anything like wordpress, anymore if you used your blog with provide warez links...You will not be able to imagine how much $$ you'll get..
recommended using blogger for newbie or beginner :)

Google also loves Blogger too, and Blogger sites can rank high. However, Wordpress is the best. There is no competition with this one, Wordpress can do so much more and is so flexible. There are so many plug-ins and themes for Wordpress, and you can turn your site into anything.

in fact, Blogspot can defeat WordPress not self hosted in search engine.
Many blogs with Blogspot indexed and in page 1 than WordPress not self hosted

I am a front-end developer and using both~both are great platforms for the peoples/developers. A WordPress-based Website's Source Code is Easier to Manage than blogger.

If all you want to do is blog and aren't too technical go with blogger. If you have grander visions and want a lot more functionality than the ability to write a blog post with ease, look into wordpress.
