The downside is that you don't have the advantages of wordpress being better because it has more features and plugins plus it's just easier to use in general as well as looks a lot better. The downside is that you will need paid hosting if you want your wordpress to be professional. Conclusion, wordpress over blogger any day.

The debate is still on....its very hard to choose one among these two.....they both have their own best features......while Blogger has the back up of the big G itself, and Wordpress comes with some great pulg ins and customization.......U shouldn't compare them......Its just like the debate of Pele Vs Maradona.....
