I will dis agree with almost all. Blogger is best for a beginner. If you compare performance of a blogger blog with a WordPress blog, Blogger is twice as fast as WordPress. Thumps up to Blogger.
Both WordPress and Blogger are good blogging sites, you can start blogging on any of them but if you are planning to start google ads on your blog then you should prefer Blogger, otherwise Wordpress is also very nice and user friendly.
Self-hosted Wordpress is the only option for my sites and should be for yours if you want to maximize long term SEO health of the website. I have found that Blogger sites are helpful if you want to cross-promote (I point most of my .INFO sites to blogger pages, think different IP addresses) or build several small followings across multiple sites and point them to my primary site, but in the long haul with the benefits and the huge possibility for growth: Wordpress is the way to go.
I would suggest you to use Blogger, if you're a newbie. Because it's very easy to manage, flexible and very secure. It's hosted on Google so extremely Secured.
I preferred to Workpress instead of blogger. Because Wordpress provide a great user interface like theme, and header footer and other things, also Wordpress blog is cached soon than blogger.
Of course compare to Blogger, Wordpress is a user friendly site as well. However, Wordpress is more of easy to edit and it contains lot of plug-ins.
Try wordpress as it is easy once you settle down the installation and has more features and plugins to help you out.
Definitely WordPress. Blogger is a bit simpler if I may say so, but WP has lots of things that could help you. Also, it is more interactive with lots of widgets and stuff. I prefer WP.
Wordpress is much better! With Blogger, there is always the risk that your blog will be shut down by Google if they don't like what you do there!
Of-course WordPress because with it you would get full control on your website and every thing will be in your hand with lots of advance features.
